4 Tips to Make Your Move a Breeze

Whether you are moving just a few miles away, or to a whole new state, the moving process can be a stressful one for sure. Our team is dedicated to making your move as stress free as possible. There are plenty of things that we can do on our end to help smooth over your process, but there’s a few things that you can do as a seller as well. If you are thinking of selling your home, contact your real estate agent as soon as possible – the sooner you get your agent involved, the smoother the process. Here’s a few more tips on how to make your move a breeze.

Baby Step Packing

If you aren’t in a rush to pack, save yourself the stress by packing a little bit at a time. Start packing room by room – start with the least used room first. It’s easy to get discombobulated when you are doing many things at once, so just take it step by step, room by room, and packing will be easier than you thought.

Yard Sale Time

This is one of the best ways to get organized – and make a little money on the side for new items for your new home. Sell everything that you don’t use or need anymore. One of the best feelings of moving into a new home is not having so much clutter, so get rid of any clutter so you don’t bring it into your new home. The more you sell, the less you have to move to your new house.

Create A Packing List moving-boxes-labeled

Being organized is one of the best things you can do for yourself when you are in the process of moving. Make a checklist – or you can even find one online by simply Googling “Moving Checklist”. Follow that checklist throughout the entire process, it will help you stay focused and organize and help create a stress-free move.

There’s Science to Packing – Pack Smart

Instead of stuffing as many items as possible into a box, take the time pack everything with care – you don’t want anything to break or get ruined. It will also lighten the load when you are carrying to boxes into your new home. Make sure you securely fasten furniture and other larger household items in the moving truck. And of course – don’t forget to label each box. This will save you a lot of time and headaches, and if you plan on using a moving company they will know exactly where everything is supposed to go.
